Born in Copenhagen, DK August 31, 1963. Started playing the drums at the age of fourteen. After finishing school he started studying theology, however the music took over, and he is now working with music especially jazz. He is playing with quite a few groups: Søren Krsitiansen Trio, Kind of Jazz, Niels Balle Group, Praise, with whom he has recorded several CD's, and in addition Kloster Band and RLQ Band. Over the years he has been working with Jesper Thilo, Stolle/Svare Jazz Quintet, Annette Gade & Henrik Sørensen Trio. In addition to this he has participated in theatrical performances and shows in Denmark. He has been a member of Theis' Jazband since Hans Nymand died i 2007.


Born in Copenhagen, DK, May 8, 1946. As a child he learned how to play the cornet in a schoolband. In the 1960s started with local amateur bands. Played with various New Orleans bands with Søren Houlind, Ib Lindschouw, Søren Sørensen a.o. 1969-76.
He also toured and recorded with some of the American New Orleans veterans. 1976-84 and 1988-89 member of Søren Sørensen's Swing Cats. He played the bass drum in Orion Brass Band 1979-86 and the trombone with Brede Big Band. Since 1990 member of Theis/Nyegaard Jazzband with whom he recorded the CD Jazz Event (1992).


Born in Copenhagen, DK, December 29, 1937. Self-taught. Started 1952 playing traditional jazz with Taarbæk Jazzband which changed name into Rågeleje Jazz in 1958. The style became more swing oriented under trombonist John Darville's leadership. 1963-67 member of Arnvid Meyer's Swing Band accompanying a series of American artists such as Stuff Smith, J. C. Higginbotham, Vic Dickenson, Ray Nance, and Ben Webster, with whom he recorded an album (Black Lion, 1965).
In 1977, after an inactive period, he became member of Theis/Nyegaard Jazzband with whom he has played and recorded since.

Born in Copenhagen, DK, August 5, 1938. Self-taught. Started playing in 1952 with amateur bands and later in the 1950s with clarinettist Henrik Johansen 1955-56, and pianist Adrian Bentzon 1956-63. From 1963 until today he has been the leader of Theis/Nyegaard Jazzband. Since 1998 under the name »Theis' Jazzband«. Over the years he played with many American soloists such as Louis Jordan, Albert Nicholas, Roy Eldrige, Doc Cheatham, Vic Dickenson,
Wild Bill Davison, Edmond Hall, Bill Coleman a.o. He has toured most of the world and recorded with his own bands, Papa Bue, Jørgen Svare, and as a solo vocalist he is heard on CBS record »Mand Mand« (1980).


Born in Copenhagen, DK, October 22, 1940. Started at the age of seven taking classical violin lessons. At the age of twelve he changed to clarinet and took lessons with Åge Foss and Ib Ericson. He started playing with various amateur bands in 1954 and later in the 1950s and early 60s with Gunnar Johnsson, Ole Karn, Arnvid Meyer and Arnvid Meyer's bands, and later with Ricardo's Jazzmen and John Darville's Band. Over the years he has played with many American soloists, such as Wild Bill Davison, Vic Dickenson, Budd Freeman and Edmond Hall. He joined »Theis' Jazzband« in the summer of 1998.


Born in Copenhagen, DK, March 14, 1943. Started very early taking classical music lessons on piano and violin. 1959 jazz piano lessons by Jørgen Bengtsson. 1960-66 member of Swingstyrke 13, Swingtusiasterne and Claus Gaardes Orchestra. 1966-
68 and 1972-80 member Københavns Fodvarmere. From 1968-69 he joined Arnvid Meyer's Swing Band, accompa-
nying American soloists like Ben Webster, Don Byas, Buck Clayton. Since 1980 member of Theis/
Nyegaard Jazzband with whom he has toured and recorded. He is heard on the CDs The First 25 Years (1990), Jazz Event (1992), T/N Tonight LIVE (1996) a.o.
